This is an update on the situation with COVID-19 and our response at Parasol Homes.
We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that Parasol Homes central management alongside our local management teams are taking the Coronavirus situation seriously.
Today the government has announced that as of tomorrow (Friday 13th March) anyone who is displaying minor symptoms of Coronavirus meaning a new continuous cough and or fever should self-isolate for 7 days rather than 14 days. Please only ring 111 for advice if your symptoms worsen. If you need to self-isolate you must report the situation to your manager as soon as possible.
In line with Government advice, we ask all staff, people we support and family/friends to stay indoors and avoid contact with other people (self-quarantine) if they have travelled to the UK from:
We are encouraging all staff and people we support to wash their hands regularly and maintain other good hygiene practises. We would like to ask everybody to try to maintain these messages and good practise throughout their day, including at home, while supporting individuals and in public spaces.
Please ensure that there is open communication between you and your management teams about any recent travel, new respiratory/fever symptoms or potential exposure to positive cases of the virus.
This extends to people in your immediate family or household. Parasol Homes will ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times, but this communication is needed for us to advise appropriately and safeguard other people we support and staff teams.
